箴言 第 13 章

¹智慧子聽父親的教訓；褻慢人不聽責備。A wise son heareth his father’s instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke.

²人因口所結的果子，必享美福；奸詐人必遭強暴。A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence.

³謹守口的，得保生命；大張嘴的，必致敗亡。He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.

⁴懶惰人羨慕，卻無所得；殷勤人必得豐裕。The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.

⁵義人恨惡謊言；惡人有臭名，且致慚愧。A righteous man hateth lying: but a wicked man is loathsome, and cometh to shame.

⁶行為正直的，有公義保守；犯罪的，被邪惡傾覆。Righteousness keepeth him that is upright in the way: but wickedness overthroweth the sinner.

⁷假作富足的，卻一無所有；裝作窮乏的，卻廣有財物。There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing: there is that maketh himself poor, yet hath great riches.

⁸人的資財是他生命的贖價；窮乏人卻聽不見威嚇的話。The ransom of a man’s life are his riches: but the poor heareth not rebuke.

⁹義人的光明亮（原文是歡喜）；惡人的燈要熄滅。The light of the righteous rejoiceth: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.

¹⁰驕傲只啟爭競；聽勸言的，卻有智慧。Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.

¹¹不勞而得之財必然消耗；勤勞積蓄的，必見加增。Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.

¹²所盼望的遲延未得，令人心憂；所願意的臨到，卻是生命樹。Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.

¹³藐視訓言的，自取滅亡；敬畏誡命的，必得善報。Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.

¹⁴智慧人的法則（或譯：指教）是生命的泉源，可以使人離開死亡的網羅。The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

¹⁵美好的聰明使人蒙恩；奸詐人的道路崎嶇難行。Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.

¹⁶凡通達人都憑知識行事；愚昧人張揚自己的愚昧。Every prudent man dealeth with knowledge: but a fool layeth open his folly.

¹⁷奸惡的使者必陷在禍患裡；忠信的使臣乃醫人的良藥。A wicked messenger falleth into mischief: but a faithful ambassador is health.

¹⁸棄絕管教的，必致貧受辱；領受責備的，必得尊榮。Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured.

¹⁹所欲的成就，心覺甘甜；遠離惡事，為愚昧人所憎惡。The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul: but it is abomination to fools to depart from evil.

²⁰與智慧人同行的，必得智慧；和愚昧人作伴的，必受虧損。He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

²¹禍患追趕罪人；義人必得善報。Evil pursueth sinners: but to the righteous good shall be repayed.

²²善人給子孫遺留產業；罪人為義人積存資財。A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children’s children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.

²³窮人耕種多得糧食，但因不義，有消滅的。Much food is in the tillage of the poor: but there is that is destroyed for want of judgment.

²⁴不忍用杖打兒子的，是恨惡他；疼愛兒子的，隨時管教。He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.

²⁵義人吃得飽足；惡人肚腹缺糧。The righteous eateth to the satisfying of his soul: but the belly of the wicked shall want.
