箴言 第 13 章

¹智慧子听父亲的教训；亵慢人不听责备。A wise son heareth his father’s instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke.

²人因口所结的果子，必享美福；奸诈人必遭强暴。A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence.

³谨守口的，得保生命；大张嘴的，必致败亡。He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.

⁴懒惰人羡慕，却无所得；殷勤人必得丰裕。The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.

⁵义人恨恶谎言；恶人有臭名，且致惭愧。A righteous man hateth lying: but a wicked man is loathsome, and cometh to shame.

⁶行为正直的，有公义保守；犯罪的，被邪恶倾覆。Righteousness keepeth him that is upright in the way: but wickedness overthroweth the sinner.

⁷假作富足的，却一无所有；装作穷乏的，却广有财物。There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing: there is that maketh himself poor, yet hath great riches.

⁸人的资财是他生命的赎价；穷乏人却听不见威吓的话。The ransom of a man’s life are his riches: but the poor heareth not rebuke.

⁹义人的光明亮（原文是欢喜）；恶人的灯要熄灭。The light of the righteous rejoiceth: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.

¹⁰骄傲只启争竞；听劝言的，却有智慧。Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.

¹¹不劳而得之财必然消耗；勤劳积蓄的，必见加增。Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.

¹²所盼望的迟延未得，令人心忧；所愿意的临到，却是生命树。Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.

¹³藐视训言的，自取灭亡；敬畏诫命的，必得善报。Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.

¹⁴智慧人的法则（或译：指教）是生命的泉源，可以使人离开死亡的网罗。The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

¹⁵美好的聪明使人蒙恩；奸诈人的道路崎岖难行。Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.

¹⁶凡通达人都凭知识行事；愚昧人张扬自己的愚昧。Every prudent man dealeth with knowledge: but a fool layeth open his folly.

¹⁷奸恶的使者必陷在祸患里；忠信的使臣乃医人的良药。A wicked messenger falleth into mischief: but a faithful ambassador is health.

¹⁸弃绝管教的，必致贫受辱；领受责备的，必得尊荣。Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured.

¹⁹所欲的成就，心觉甘甜；远离恶事，为愚昧人所憎恶。The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul: but it is abomination to fools to depart from evil.

²⁰与智慧人同行的，必得智慧；和愚昧人作伴的，必受亏损。He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

²¹祸患追赶罪人；义人必得善报。Evil pursueth sinners: but to the righteous good shall be repayed.

²²善人给子孙遗留产业；罪人为义人积存资财。A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children’s children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.

²³穷人耕种多得粮食，但因不义，有消灭的。Much food is in the tillage of the poor: but there is that is destroyed for want of judgment.

²⁴不忍用杖打儿子的，是恨恶他；疼爱儿子的，随时管教。He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.

²⁵义人吃得饱足；恶人肚腹缺粮。The righteous eateth to the satisfying of his soul: but the belly of the wicked shall want.
