箴言 第 10 章

¹所羅門的箴言：智慧之子使父親歡樂；愚昧之子叫母親擔憂。The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.

²不義之財毫無益處；惟有公義能救人脫離死亡。Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.

³耶和華不使義人受飢餓；惡人所欲的，他必推開。The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.

⁴手懶的，要受貧窮；手勤的，卻要富足。He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.

⁵夏天聚斂的，是智慧之子；收割時沉睡的，是貽羞之子。He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.

⁶福祉臨到義人的頭；強暴蒙蔽惡人的口。Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.

⁷義人的紀念被稱讚；惡人的名字必朽爛。The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.

⁸心中智慧的，必受命令；口裡愚妄的，必致傾倒。The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.

⁹行正直路的，步步安穩；走彎曲道的，必致敗露。He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.

¹⁰以眼傳神的，使人憂患；口裡愚妄的，必致傾倒。He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow: but a prating fool shall fall.

¹¹義人的口是生命的泉源；強暴蒙蔽惡人的口。The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.

¹²恨能挑啟爭端；愛能遮掩一切過錯。Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.

¹³明哲人嘴裡有智慧；無知人背上受刑杖。In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.

¹⁴智慧人積存知識；愚妄人的口速致敗壞。Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.

¹⁵富戶的財物是他的堅城；窮人的貧乏是他的敗壞。The rich man’s wealth is his strong city: the destruction of the poor is their poverty.

¹⁶義人的勤勞致生；惡人的進項致死（死：原文是罪）。The labour of the righteous tendeth to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin.

¹⁷謹守訓誨的，乃在生命的道上；違棄責備的，便失迷了路。He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction: but he that refuseth reproof erreth.

¹⁸隱藏怨恨的，有說謊的嘴；口出讒謗的，是愚妄的人。He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.

¹⁹多言多語難免有過；禁止嘴唇是有智慧。In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.

²⁰義人的舌乃似高銀；惡人的心所值無幾。The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth.

²¹義人的口教養多人；愚昧人因無知而死亡。The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.

²²耶和華所賜的福使人富足，並不加上憂慮。The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.

²³愚妄人以行惡為戲耍；明哲人卻以智慧為樂。It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom.

²⁴惡人所怕的，必臨到他；義人所願的，必蒙應允。The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.

²⁵暴風一過，惡人歸於無有；義人的根基卻是永久。As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.

²⁶懶惰人叫差他的人如醋倒牙，如煙薰目。As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him.

²⁷敬畏耶和華使人日子加多；但惡人的年歲必被減少。The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.

²⁸義人的盼望必得喜樂；惡人的指望必致滅沒。The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.

²⁹耶和華的道是正直人的保障，卻成了作孽人的敗壞。The way of the LORD is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.

³⁰義人永不挪移；惡人不得住在地上。The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.

³¹義人的口滋生智慧；乖謬的舌必被割斷。The mouth of the just bringeth forth wisdom: but the froward tongue shall be cut out.

³²義人的嘴能令人喜悅；惡人的口說乖謬的話。The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness.
