箴言 第 28 章

¹惡人雖無人追趕也逃跑；義人卻膽壯像獅子。The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.

²邦國因有罪過，君王就多更換；因有聰明知識的人，國必長存。For the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof: but by a man of understanding and knowledge the state thereof shall be prolonged.

³窮人欺壓貧民，好像暴雨沖沒糧食。A poor man that oppresseth the poor is like a sweeping rain which leaveth no food.

⁴違棄律法的，誇獎惡人；遵守律法的，卻與惡人相爭。They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them.

⁵壞人不明白公義；惟有尋求耶和華的，無不明白。Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things.

⁶行為純正的窮乏人勝過行事乖僻的富足人。Better is the poor that walketh in his uprightness, than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich.

⁷謹守律法的，是智慧之子；與貪食人作伴的，卻羞辱其父。Whoso keepeth the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of riotous men shameth his father.

⁸人以厚利加增財物，是給那憐憫窮人者積蓄的。He that by usury and unjust gain increaseth his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor.

⁹轉耳不聽律法的，他的祈禱也為可憎。He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.

¹⁰誘惑正直人行惡道的，必掉在自己的坑裡；惟有完全人必承受福分。Whoso causeth the righteous to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit: but the upright shall have good things in possession.

¹¹富足人自以為有智慧，但聰明的貧窮人能將他查透。The rich man is wise in his own conceit; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out.

¹²義人得志，有大榮耀；惡人興起，人就躲藏。When righteous men do rejoice, there is great glory: but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden.

¹³遮掩自己罪過的，必不亨通；承認離棄罪過的，必蒙憐恤。He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

¹⁴常存敬畏的，便為有福；心存剛硬的，必陷在禍患裡。Happy is the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.

¹⁵暴虐的君王轄制貧民，好像吼叫的獅子、覓食的熊。As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people.

¹⁶無知的君多行暴虐；以貪財為可恨的，必年長日久。The prince that wanteth understanding is also a great oppressor: but he that hateth covetousness shall prolong his days.

¹⁷背負流人血之罪的，必往坑裡奔跑，誰也不可攔阻他。A man that doeth violence to the blood of any person shall flee to the pit; let no man stay him.

¹⁸行動正直的，必蒙拯救；行事彎曲的，立時跌倒。Whoso walketh uprightly shall be saved: but he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once.

¹⁹耕種自己田地的，必得飽食；追隨虛浮的，足受窮乏。He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that followeth after vain persons shall have poverty enough.

²⁰誠實人必多得福；想要急速發財的，不免受罰。A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.

²¹看人的情面乃為不好；人因一塊餅枉法也為不好。To have respect of persons is not good: for for a piece of bread that man will transgress.

²²人有惡眼想要急速發財，卻不知窮乏必臨到他身。He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him.

²³責備人的，後來蒙人喜悅，多於那用舌頭諂媚人的。He that rebuketh a man afterwards shall find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue.

²⁴偷竊父母的，說：這不是罪，此人就是與強盜同類。Whoso robbeth his father or his mother, and saith, It is no transgression; the same is the companion of a destroyer.

²⁵心中貪婪的，挑起爭端；倚靠耶和華的，必得豐裕。He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be made fat.

²⁶心中自是的，便是愚昧人；憑智慧行事的，必蒙拯救。He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.

²⁷賙濟貧窮的，不致缺乏；佯為不見的，必多受咒詛。He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse.

²⁸惡人興起，人就躲藏；惡人敗亡，義人增多。When the wicked rise, men hide themselves: but when they perish, the righteous increase.
