阿摩司書 第 7 章

¹主耶和華指示我一件事：為王割菜（或譯：草）之後，菜又發生；剛發生的時候，主造蝗蟲。Thus hath the Lord GOD shewed unto me; and, behold, he formed grasshoppers in the beginning of the shooting up of the latter growth; and, lo, it was the latter growth after the king’s mowings.

²蝗蟲吃盡那地的青物，我就說：主耶和華啊，求你赦免；因為雅各微弱，他怎能站立得住呢？And it came to pass, that when they had made an end of eating the grass of the land, then I said, O Lord GOD, forgive, I beseech thee: by whom shall Jacob arise? for he is small.

³耶和華就後悔，說：這災可以免了。The LORD repented for this: It shall not be, saith the LORD.

⁴主耶和華又指示我一件事：他命火來懲罰以色列，火就吞滅深淵，險些將地燒滅。Thus hath the Lord GOD shewed unto me: and, behold, the Lord GOD called to contend by fire, and it devoured the great deep, and did eat up a part.

⁵我就說：主耶和華啊，求你止息；因為雅各微弱，他怎能站立得住呢？Then said I, O Lord GOD, cease, I beseech thee: by whom shall Jacob arise? for he is small.

⁶耶和華就後悔，說：這災也可免了。The LORD repented for this: This also shall not be, saith the Lord GOD.

⁷他又指示我一件事：有一道牆是按準繩建築的，主手拿準繩站在其上。Thus he shewed me: and, behold, the Lord stood upon a wall made by a plumbline, with a plumbline in his hand.

⁸耶和華對我說：阿摩司啊，你看見甚麼？我說：看見準繩。主說：我要吊起準繩在我民以色列中，我必不再寬恕他們。And the LORD said unto me, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A plumbline. Then said the Lord, Behold, I will set a plumbline in the midst of my people Israel: I will not again pass by them any more:

⁹以撒的邱壇必然淒涼，以色列的聖所必然荒廢。我必興起，用刀攻擊耶羅波安的家。And the high places of Isaac shall be desolate, and the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.

¹⁰伯特利的祭司亞瑪謝打發人到以色列王耶羅波安那裡，說：阿摩司在以色列家中圖謀背叛你；他所說的一切話，這國擔當不起；Then Amaziah the priest of Beth-el sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, Amos hath conspired against thee in the midst of the house of Israel: the land is not able to bear all his words.

¹¹因為阿摩司如此說：耶羅波安必被刀殺，以色列民定被擄去離開本地。For thus Amos saith, Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of their own land.

¹²亞瑪謝又對阿摩司說：你這先見哪，要逃往猶大地去，在那裡糊口，在那裡說預言，Also Amaziah said unto Amos, O thou seer, go, flee thee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there:

¹³卻不要在伯特利再說預言；因為這裡有王的聖所，有王的宮殿。But prophesy not again any more at Beth-el: for it is the king’s chapel, and it is the king’s court.

¹⁴阿摩司對亞瑪謝說：我原不是先知，也不是先知的門徒（原文是兒子）。我是牧人，又是修理桑樹的。Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah, I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet’s son; but I was an herdman, and a gatherer of sycomore fruit:

¹⁵耶和華選召我，使我不跟從羊群，對我說：你去向我民以色列說預言。And the LORD took me as I followed the flock, and the LORD said unto me, Go, prophesy unto my people Israel.

¹⁶亞瑪謝啊，現在你要聽耶和華的話。你說：不要向以色列說預言，也不要向以撒家滴下預言。Now therefore hear thou the word of the LORD: Thou sayest, Prophesy not against Israel, and drop not thy word against the house of Isaac.

¹⁷所以耶和華如此說：你的妻子必在城中作妓女，你的兒女必倒在刀下；你的地必有人用繩子量了分取，你自己必死在污穢之地。以色列民定被擄去離開本地。Therefore thus saith the LORD; Thy wife shall be an harlot in the city, and thy sons and thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy land shall be divided by line; and thou shalt die in a polluted land: and Israel shall surely go into captivity forth of his land.
