歷代志下 第 14 章

¹亞比雅與他列祖同睡，葬在大衛城裡。他兒子亞撒接續他作王。亞撒年間，國中太平十年。So Abijah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his stead. In his days the land was quiet ten years.

²亞撒行耶和華─他神眼中看為善為正的事，And Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of the LORD his God:

³除掉外邦神的壇和邱壇，打碎柱像，砍下木偶，For he took away the altars of the strange gods, and the high places, and brake down the images, and cut down the groves:

⁴吩咐猶大人尋求耶和華─他們列祖的神，遵行他的律法、誡命；And commanded Judah to seek the LORD God of their fathers, and to do the law and the commandment.

⁵又在猶大各城邑除掉邱壇和日像，那時國享太平；Also he took away out of all the cities of Judah the high places and the images: and the kingdom was quiet before him.

⁶又在猶大建造了幾座堅固城。國中太平數年，沒有戰爭，因為耶和華賜他平安。And he built fenced cities in Judah: for the land had rest, and he had no war in those years; because the LORD had given him rest.

⁷他對猶大人說：我們要建造這些城邑，四圍築牆，蓋樓，安門，做閂；地還屬我們，是因尋求耶和華─我們的神；我們既尋求他，他就賜我們四境平安。於是建造城邑，諸事亨通。Therefore he said unto Judah, Let us build these cities, and make about them walls, and towers, gates, and bars, while the land is yet before us; because we have sought the LORD our God, we have sought him, and he hath given us rest on every side. So they built and prospered.

⁸亞撒的軍兵，出自猶大拿盾牌拿槍的三十萬人；出自便雅憫拿盾牌拉弓的二十八萬人。這都是大能的勇士。And Asa had an army of men that bare targets and spears, out of Judah three hundred thousand; and out of Benjamin, that bare shields and drew bows, two hundred and fourscore thousand: all these were mighty men of valour.

⁹有古實王謝拉率領軍兵一百萬，戰車三百輛，出來攻擊猶大人，到了瑪利沙。And there came out against them Zerah the Ethiopian with an host of a thousand thousand, and three hundred chariots; and came unto Mareshah.

¹⁰於是亞撒出去與他迎敵，就在瑪利沙的洗法谷彼此擺陣。Then Asa went out against him, and they set the battle in array in the valley of Zephathah at Mareshah.

¹¹亞撒呼求耶和華─他的神說：耶和華啊，惟有你能幫助軟弱的，勝過強盛的。耶和華─我們的神啊，求你幫助我們；因為我們仰賴你，奉你的名來攻擊這大軍。耶和華啊，你是我們的神，不要容人勝過你。And Asa cried unto the LORD his God, and said, LORD, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O LORD, thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee.

¹²於是耶和華使古實人敗在亞撒和猶大人面前，古實人就逃跑了；So the LORD smote the Ethiopians before Asa, and before Judah; and the Ethiopians fled.

¹³亞撒和跟隨他的軍兵追趕他們，直到基拉耳。古實人被殺的甚多，不能再強盛，因為敗在耶和華與他軍兵面前。猶大人就奪了許多財物，And Asa and the people that were with him pursued them unto Gerar: and the Ethiopians were overthrown, that they could not recover themselves; for they were destroyed before the LORD, and before his host; and they carried away very much spoil.

¹⁴又打破基拉耳四圍的城邑；耶和華使其中的人都甚恐懼。猶大人又將所有的城擄掠一空，因其中的財物甚多，And they smote all the cities round about Gerar; for the fear of the LORD came upon them: and they spoiled all the cities; for there was exceeding much spoil in them.

¹⁵又毀壞了群畜的圈，奪取許多的羊和駱駝，就回耶路撒冷去了。They smote also the tents of cattle, and carried away sheep and camels in abundance, and returned to Jerusalem.
