约伯记 第 39 章

¹山岩间的野山羊几时生产，你知道么？母鹿下犊之期，你能察定么？Knowest thou the time when the wild goats of the rock bring forth? or canst thou mark when the hinds do calve?

²他们怀胎的月数，你能数算么？他们几时生产，你能晓得么？Canst thou number the months that they fulfil? or knowest thou the time when they bring forth?

³他们屈身，将子生下，就除掉疼痛。They bow themselves, they bring forth their young ones, they cast out their sorrows.

⁴这子渐渐肥壮，在荒野长大，去而不回。Their young ones are in good liking, they grow up with corn; they go forth, and return not unto them.

⁵谁放野驴出去自由？谁解开快驴的绳索？Who hath sent out the wild ass free? or who hath loosed the bands of the wild ass?

⁶我使旷野作他的住处，使咸地当他的居所。Whose house I have made the wilderness, and the barren land his dwellings.

⁷他嗤笑城内的喧嚷，不听赶牲口的喝声。He scorneth the multitude of the city, neither regardeth he the crying of the driver.

⁸遍山是他的草场；他寻找各样青绿之物。The range of the mountains is his pasture, and he searcheth after every green thing.

⁹野牛岂肯服事你？岂肯住在你的槽旁？Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib?

¹⁰你岂能用套绳将野牛笼在犁沟之间？他岂肯随你耙山谷之地？Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee?

¹¹岂可因他的力大就倚靠他？岂可把你的工交给他做么？Wilt thou trust him, because his strength is great? or wilt thou leave thy labour to him?

¹²岂可信靠他把你的粮食运到家，又收聚你禾场上的谷么？Wilt thou believe him, that he will bring home thy seed, and gather it into thy barn?

¹³鸵鸟的翅膀欢然扇展，岂是显慈爱的翎毛和羽毛么？Gavest thou the goodly wings unto the peacocks? or wings and feathers unto the ostrich?

¹⁴因他把蛋留在地上，在尘土中使得温暖；Which leaveth her eggs in the earth, and warmeth them in dust,

¹⁵却想不到被脚踹碎，或被野兽践踏。And forgetteth that the foot may crush them, or that the wild beast may break them.

¹⁶他忍心待雏，似乎不是自己的；虽然徒受劳苦，也不为雏惧怕；She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not hers: her labour is in vain without fear;

¹⁷因为神使他没有智慧，也未将悟性赐给他。Because God hath deprived her of wisdom, neither hath he imparted to her understanding.

¹⁸他几时挺身展开翅膀，就嗤笑马和骑马的人。What time she lifteth up herself on high, she scorneth the horse and his rider.

¹⁹马的大力是你所赐的么？他颈项上挓挲的鬃是你给他披上的么？Hast thou given the horse strength? hast thou clothed his neck with thunder?

²⁰是你叫他跳跃像蝗虫么？他喷气之威使人惊惶。Canst thou make him afraid as a grasshopper? the glory of his nostrils is terrible.

²¹他在谷中刨地，自喜其力；他出去迎接佩带兵器的人。He paweth in the valley, and rejoiceth in his strength: he goeth on to meet the armed men.

²²他嗤笑可怕的事并不惊惶，也不因刀剑退回。He mocketh at fear, and is not affrighted; neither turneth he back from the sword.

²³箭袋和发亮的枪，并短枪在他身上铮铮有声。The quiver rattleth against him, the glittering spear and the shield.

²⁴他发猛烈的怒气将地吞下；一听角声就不耐站立。He swalloweth the ground with fierceness and rage: neither believeth he that it is the sound of the trumpet.

²⁵角每发声，他说呵哈；他从远处闻着战气，又听见军长大发雷声和兵丁呐喊。He saith among the trumpets, Ha, ha; and he smelleth the battle afar off, the thunder of the captains, and the shouting.

²⁶鹰雀飞翔，展开翅膀一直向南，岂是藉你的智慧么？Doth the hawk fly by thy wisdom, and stretch her wings toward the south?

²⁷大鹰上腾在高处搭窝，岂是听你的吩咐么？Doth the eagle mount up at thy command, and make her nest on high?

²⁸他住在山岩，以山峰和坚固之所为家，She dwelleth and abideth on the rock, upon the crag of the rock, and the strong place.

²⁹从那里窥看食物，眼睛远远观望。From thence she seeketh the prey, and her eyes behold afar off.

³⁰他的雏也咂血；被杀的人在哪里，他也在那里。Her young ones also suck up blood: and where the slain are, there is she.
